If only moving were this easy

Our first night at Glacier, we gratefully took one of the last remaining spots in the whole campground. By the next morning, it was clear that our spot was way too small as we were tripping over each other and grumpy. Like vultures, we walked the loop watching for a better spot to open up. Finally, we found a spot that was much better.

Scott was going to tear down everything and set it back up again at the new site, but I convinced him that we could save a lot of work if we picked up the tent and carried it. I wish I could have video taped it, but Scott and I walked the loop carrying the tent while Munchkin walked in front of us swinging his arms and calling out, "WIDE LOAD! WIDE LOAD!"

LOL. We did the same thing last time we went camping. Moved up to some bigger digs with more redwood trees (or, as the kids called them, secret hideouts because they liked hiding in their roots). Hope Glacier was fun. I haven't been since I was a kid but we're talking about a trip up there in the next year or two.

We really enjoyed Glacier, and there were plenty of shorter hikes that we could do with Munchkin. If you're thinking of going, do it soon. They're projecting that the glaciers will be gone in 10 years.

This was such a happy post until I got to the melting glacial part. Sounds like you had a great time entertaining the big M. Funny how it's the ordinary things that seem like chores can turn out to be the highlights.

kale: Yes, the glaciers are melting and if you want to see them, you better go soon. But the park is still beautiful and still appropriately named since every inch of it has been shaped by glaciers.
